And now for the second in the Miley Cyrus set. By this point in the series this should be a solid single color. But I have started to shift that idea and this is a multi-color layer of gradations of mostly blues and pinks.

The color range in the face works out nicely. The transition from the pale green to pink to navy is great. Once again I love the blended color on the dark side of Miley’s face. It’s thick like a lollipop. The transition between pink and blue almost looks solarized.

You can see signs of the struggle I had with this one in the cross-hatch sanding in the eyes. I always sand back if the layer becomes to heavy or oppressive. This one must have had several top layers in an attempt to fix some shortcoming in the piece. Plus, I think I started to lean heavily on corrective layers because of the success I had with the second Ivana.

I still prefer the first Miley because of its cohesion, but this is a nice play on that idea. And it has lots of areas of visual interest. My only crit, I wish the bees were more visible.
