Finally the end of the Itek series comes with a final portrait of me, Craig Ashby. Basking in the claustrophobic light of that coffin camera.

The ball chain necklace visible again. This final image is a beauty that finalizes the series quite nicely. Purple dread dripping and rusting, check. Sassy pose, check. Nearly forgotten memories, check.

I have said it before and say it again now, it troubles me sometimes that I like my pieces as much as I do. I sometimes wish I were tortured by my failures like a good artist.

Certainly there have been pieces that leave me groaning with disappointment, but the pieces I love outweigh all that. I will state this many more times to come. I am amazed and thankful I have done anything I love.

To quote Yoko, ‘Where do we go from here?’ I will take several days off to prepare one more historical set. Those naive supermodels from a lifetime ago. Maybe right before those supermodels drop, I will post a brand new test piece I have been working on this week. Just a one-off to tease you a bit. Then onto something completely different.

P.S. Did you notice I removed all the visible text from the blog page? I have been pondering how to do it and found my answer late last night. I just think it tidies things up and allows for the art to shine. What do you think?
