DJ Mix

Fifth in the archival series and third DJ Mix in a set of three in two months. I wish I could get my productivity at that level right now. I guess I am multitasking in a lot of new ways and there is only so much time.

This DJ Mix treads familiar territory of earlier mixes. Minimal house via Pantha du Prince with just a touch of Balearic via Sascha Funke. Unexpectedly Max Buschfeld commented on this mix on soundcloud. What a nice nod from a great artist.

This mix is full of bells and minor sadness until the aggression of the Apparat track. Telefon Tel Aviv will always be a favorite. The final track is reminiscent of the second half Kate Bush’s Aerial. Beautiful and plodding with spaced out guitar and that lovely bass. The bass being where I make the association with Kate Bush.

While putting up these archive I have had that nagging feeling that maybe I shouldn’t mix art and music on my website. Then I pull back and realize that without the music that always plays while I work there would be no art. I have done both and want to share both.

Download or listen to the 320 kbps directly from my site here. As always though, please use the soundcloud embedded track if it is available.
