This is a collection of all the scanned pieces that led up to this new set. All the physical pieces I considered interesting enough to show.

It starts with the initial sketch in pencil. The very beginning of these pieces right there in that simple little sketch.

I then move on to color variations of the image. These happened because I had a Canon all in one that was dying. The scanner was dead so I was just trying to run out the ink. I was switching the smaller ink tanks around to see what I would get. These are the results from my playful funeral.

Sadly each of these pieces was eaten by the cutter. Eaten so badly at one point I had to contact the manufacturer and get a new machine. Hence the huge delay in these pieces.

I would honestly say that the cutter has been less than helpful in my process. Frequently Ernie brings up the fact that I did better when I cut by hand. I have considered going back to hand cutting.

But still the complexity and possibility of failure is huge. What I am trying to do is limit the failure. Maybe just limit failure across the board, not just in art.
