Pen and Ink

Liberty Feet is another detail from the Fritz pieces. A pen and ink drawing of those pre-assembled Statue of Liberty photographs. A strange moment in history that has hidden meaning for me.

Speaking of special meaning, I was having a conversation with a group of people about their recent trip to San Francisco. We talked about how it is the most expensive place in the States. They were shocked, being from London. They thought it would be New York City.

What they were more shocked by is how many homeless people there were in San Francisco. They said it was much more intense than here.   I still don’t know if this is true or just a weighted experience.

What I have noticed is that the homeless population here has exploded. It is so much more visible than it has been in recent years. Intensely visible and many of them very new to the streets.

When I brought this up to Ernie, he asked if this was foreshadowing for some Homeless Revolution. Instantly I loved the idea. Can you imagine? More importantly why hasn’t it happened yet? What do you have left to lose? Why isn’t anyone standing up anymore?
