Of course thirty-ninth in the MAZE Series would be legendary. It’s a special number to me and it seems to work in this piece.

At first I knew I had limited choices with the movements of the pieces if I wanted to keep it homogeneous. So instantly abandoned the rules again to keep the unity of color. Going over it right now I wonder why I made certain choices. But nothing bothers me.

I love that this is one of the few in this series that highlights the MAZE most prominently. It also has amazing 3D elements that really pop. Also it reads much like a character in an alphabet.

It works on a lot of levels because it’s easy. It just moves enough to work. It contrasts just enough. It’s not overworked. It just is the barest minimum.

Another pair and two solos. Sunset meets a concrete wall and a tuxedo shirt cuff. Just easy visual associations with a fun eye for color. I can’t say enough good things about this.

Tomorrow is the end of the MAZE Series. I guess I will talk about what is coming up in the future then.
