Number five in the MAZEXTRA Series is the one I was thinking about when I said I felt some didn’t reach their full potential. The composition is a let down.

I don’t mind anything else about it. The colors are great. Just the shapes placed less than perfectly in the piece. It’s okay. Least favorite in the series.

Still it works nicely within the series. The color helps solve the balance of so many black and white pieces. The interjection of more text reaches back to the first piece. Connecting to the rest of my previous work.

Or most of it. All of those early pieces have a fear of random text. Text that does exist is very controlled. Text on watches or text on caution signs. I wonder when I got over my fear of imperfection?

It’s safe to say I am completely cured of that fear. I seem to tread in imperfection and disaster regularly. Maybe it’s how I perform best.

I know that I need to push the imperfection to an impossible edge. Maybe when I go back to invent the PR-RAW Series. Or perhaps with the next set of Supermodels.
