Throughout the Dark Months of April And May

I have held off posting this for over a week. Ernie feels the pictures are too dark. I think it is perfect balance to a city that blossoming into spring.

It was a simple draw. New Orphan Black posters. A show I love almost as much as Tatiana Maslany. The season premiere came on just last night and I got my fill of favorite Alison.

Then I start reading the scrawl. Written in black. Underscoring both the Orphan and the Black. Speaking horrible secrets. Truth or mental illness. Repeated ideas from the internet.

True or not it rings of New York. A city that enforces isolation and screams for communication. I empathize and resonate with this attempt.

Even at its worst it is just another conspiracy theory. Which I find fascinating in the sense that they add a fantastical element to an all too banal consensus reality. Layered on an advertisement that is already a conspiracy theory, the images here hit a meta high.

Although the content isn’t laughable the context is completely hysterical. A big cosmic joke that made me smile. That is the point of sharing these. Sharing the laugh and horror.

Not to mention by the next day the images had immediately been replaced. Obviously by the shadowy network that didn’t want the truth out there. Mwahaha.

All of this rides on top of my current obsession with Victorialand by Cocteau Twins, hence the title. Just google it. Listen and enjoy. A song of sadness and spring. It’s first lyrics question ‘why can’t we change?’

All of this I internalize. Why can’t I change? Why am I drawn to the same ideas over and over? Why do they repeat outside of me? Why is this universe communicating with me over and over in the same exact way? Is it because I can’t learn what it is trying to say and fix the lesson?
